A early-medieval silver penny of Aethelred II (978-1016), long cross type (997-1003; BMC iva; North 774), mint and moneyer unknown. Ref: North 1994: 159. The coin is in a fragmentary, broken condition with c.60% surviving, comprising the central field and about 25% of the coin edge. There is a break across the surviving coin along one axis of reverse cross.
