A medieval copper-alloy English jetton. Late wardrobe Lamb of God type, inscribed ECCE AGNVS DI QVI TOLL PECCATA MV, Berry type 7, Mernick reference 5b.7.23 dating to c. 1350-c. 1400. Mint uncertain. The obverse type is mentioned in the major reference work, but no examples are present (Mitchiner 1988, 119)
It bears a central piercing that has developed from a punch mark. This is a rare type of English jetton with only one other example, with a different reverse, traced on this database (HAMP-21B83D). It has therefore been marked as a Find of Note.
