A very worn gilded copper-alloy Medieval harness pendant of quatrefoil form. The pendant has a central lion in a rectangle with a blue enamel field, and four stylised fleurs-de-lis against a red enamel field. The left-hand lobe is extremely worn but the right-hand and lower lobes clearly had small points between the lobes. At the top is the suspension loop, pierced from side to side. Compare Ashley 2002, fig. 21, nos. 208-213. Ashley quotes an excavated parallel from King John's Hunting Lodge, Writtle, Essex, found in a context of c. 1425-1521 (2002, 23, quoting Rahtz 1969, 87 and 90,…

A Late Iron Age copper-alloy double lunate strap fitting. The fitting comprises a central body of two crescents attached point to point to form a central circular aperture. There is circular pit in each crescent, possibly intended to take a missing stone or enamel; one has been broken through. On each side is a bar to take the strap and each is furnished with two pairs of double collars. The outer part of each crescent is decorated with a curving panel which contains engraved basketwork ornament.

The openwork bezel of a silver-gilt late medieval finger ring, now worn, depicting a crown above a heart. The bezel is separately attached to the band, a fragment of which survives. A number of similar silver-gilt finger-rings depicting crowned hearts have been recorded on ther PAS database. These include: IOW-F99317; DENO-871506; and WILT-DF2794. Some examples also incorporate clasped hands.

A Roman cast copper alloy enamelled disc (sexfoil) brooch. The central six-point 'star' has lobed terminals and is infilled with white enamel; the outer field is infilled with blue enamel. Most of the enamel survives. The brooch probably had an iron pin. Only the stub of the catchplate remains.

A component from a Roman cavalry harness fitting comprising a shouldered frame with a key-hole shaped aperture, set below a rectangular block. The opposite terminal has a projecting loop set at right angles. A number of examples of such fasteners have been published: Chapman (2005, 136; ref. Te04), Jackson (1990, 36; ref. 67), Bishop and Coulston (1993, 106; ref. 7), Jenkins (1985, 150; fig. 14). Two other examples are on this database - ref. LEIC-0017E1 and HAMP-F92224. The latter is a more complete example..
