A very worn Roman coin, probably a plated silver denarius of late-2nd to 3rd century AD date, possibly Severus Alexander or similar (possibly Reece period 11). Possibly IOVI CONSERVATORI reverse type depicting Jupiter standing left holding thunderbolt and vertical sceptre. Uncertain mint.
