A worn and incomplete Early (5th to 6th century) Anglo-Saxon copper alloy round or saucer brooch with a central pentagonal dome within pentagonal and concentric circular forms. The brooch has a diameter of around 25mm and has stubs of a hinge and catchplate on the back. Part of the flan and the hinge, catchplate and pin are missing. Very similar to Hattat (2000) 685, p378.

The brooch has a central four point 'star' with two concentric circles, an outer annular frame of pellets, three rounded projections (one of which is missing), each with circles. The brooch has a loop on its upper edge, a hinge and catchplate on the back, an iron-rich patina and no clear evidence of enamel.
