A silver brooch in the shape of a cross with expanding terminals. The front of the brooch is decorated with 11 ring and dot stamps and notches are visible on the outer edges of two terminals. On the back of the brooch is a large hinge and catchplate. The pin is missing.
Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface metal undertaken in the Department of Scientific Research at the British Museum indicated a silver content of approximately 91-93%, the rest being mostly copper. Its composition and appearance suggest that the brooch is likely to be relatively modern.
