An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy hooked tag, missing its hook dating from AD 1500-1550. The body of the tag is circular with a domed upper surface. The upper surface is decorated with rings of raised dots. Attached to the body is a triangular attachment loops which is lozenge-shaped in section. Opposite the loop on the body is the stump from which the hook projected. On the reverse of the tag is a raised rectangle. Read (2008:96 no. 349-351) illustrates similar hooked tags. A post medieval silver gilt hooked tag. The body of the tag contains three panels, creating with the back a hollow trapezoidal section. Each of the panels is decorated with three domed circles within beaded borders in a row with pairs of smaller raised circular knops between. Each panel is separated by a linear border. A Post Medieval copper alloy hooked tag. It is composite with a sheet metal hook and loop soldered onto the reverse of a die-stamped front plate. The trefoil front plate is composed of three hollow-domed bosses with central recessed dots and incised frill edges. These three bosses are separated by bars radiating from a central domed rivet; each of the bars has a central linear groove. An incomplete post medieval copper alloy openwork hooked tag, missing it's hook and part of the attachment loop. The body of the tag is circular; it is decorated with a linear cross, with central pellet, and a beaded outer border. In each of the quarters created by the cross are four punched circular holes. The attachment has squared corners, one of which has broken off. There is only a stump left where the hook protruded from the opposite side of the circle. An Early Medieval silver hooked tag. Description: Silver hooked tag with large circular plate, three broken attachment lugs, and sharp hook. The plate has the remains of three D-shaped lugs at the top, the central one right in the middle of the top of the plate. Each one is about 4mm wide at its base. An incomplete post medieval sub-ovoid hooked tag, with the tag or attachment loop missing. The body of the tag has foliate decoration on the front and is plain on the reverse. On three sides are round attachment knops with punched holes. On the flat edge is the break from the hook or rectangular loop. Read has categorised similar hooked tags as class A type 2, and dates them to the late 16th to 17th century (2007, 165 & 171). This example is covered in a dark green patina and measures 30.7mm x 28mm x 2mm, and weighs 4.8g

A corroded post medieval cast copper alloy hooked tag with iron rivets. The body of the tag is broadly trapezoidal with the hook protruding from the smallest edge of the body. The hook curls back on itself and has a rounded tip. The body of the tag appears undecorated but is masked by the red-brown corrosion of the two iron rivets, place lengthways along the tag. An early post medieval copper alloy sub-circular hooked tag. The tag has a circular body decorated with a bearded man's face, wearing a hat. He is orientated so the hook is directly above the face. The hook curves back to run parallel to the shaft to almost the same length and narrows to a point. Opposite the hook is a trapezoidal attachment loop. The reverse of the circle is concave. A fragment of an early post medieval copper alloy hooked tag. This is one end of an oval shaped tag with three projecting attachment knops (Read's Class A, Type 2; 2008, 168 cf. 640ff.). The tip of the tag has broken off, leaving a semi circular cut into the edge of the tag. The fragment has two gently curved edge either side of the cut, and has broken diagonally approx a third along the tag's original length. A complete early post medieval cast copper alloy hooked tag. The body of the tag is a moulded trefoil, each circle decorated with seven pellets (one in the centre, six around the edge).
