A copper alloy trumpet brooch of Hull Type 157C dating to the Roman period. The brooch is nearly identical to an example in Hattatt (1989, p. 327, Fig. 186, no. 1528). The head end of the bow expands outward in a typical 'trumpet-like' form with a broadly D-shaped cross-section. The object tapers in thickness from the head curving down towards the leg of the brooch. The foot is missing. At the rear of the head is the top of a pierced lug through which the spring would have passed holding it in place. The spring, pin and catchplate are missing. Cast copper alloy 'lyre-shaped' strap end with an integral box chape and openwork terminal. The terminal comprises elaborate openwork of inverted M-shape with a lozenge-shaped terminal and side scrolls with four circular depressions on the outside edge of the frame. In the centreme is a bird (possibly an eagle). The box chape is rectangular in cross-section and has two rivet holes for attachment. The box chape has broken on the rear around the rivet holes. A shield shaped, heraldic harness stud or mount of medieval date (AD 1250-1400). The mount features the design of gules three lions passant guardant. Most of red enamel has survived with the brownish-green patina of lions. The reverse surface is rough and undecorated with an attachment shank just below centre which is circular in cross-section. A cast copper-alloy terminal (foot) from a 'Vase-headed' linch pin. The object is circular in plan and D-shaped in cross-section. The face is decorated with two central circular motifs, 7.75 mm in diameter, consisting of two pellets each within a circle which is with a crescentic circle on its side. A fragment of a copper alloy blade of Late Bronze Age date 1200-800 BC - but probably 1000-800. The fragment is sub-rectangular in plan and lentoid in cross-section. Each end terminates with a break. The blade measures 52.98mm in length and is 19.93mm wide. It is 3.61mm thick at its central point which tapers towards the cutting edge at each side of the blade. A copper alloy bracelet or armlet of Roman date. The bracelet has a simple hoop with decorative spiral terminals. Each terminal of the object forms the opposite spiral twist of the clasp with two wires passing either side wrapping around the hoop of the bracelet. On the internal face of the hoop opposite the clasp the hoop widens and opens out. It is unclear if this is part of the decoration or due to damage from the plough soil.
