An incomplete copper alloy key dating to the medieval period, (AD 1100-1500). The stem of the key is circular in cross-section measuring 8mm in diameter. The stem of the key has broken and the bow is missing. The stem is hollow making it a pipe key. The bit consists of one separate bit at a right angle to the stem and a longer rectangular bit. The longer bit has two clefts removed from the sides, and from the base of the bit, four wards project away from the shaft. The key has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition. A medieval copper alloy rotary key probably dating from AD 1300 - 1500. The bow is incomplete, but was probably an open quatrefoil. There is a wide swollen collar next to the bow. The stem is oval in cross section. It is broken at the bit end. The bit is rectangular. It has a deep cleft in the centre of the leading edge, with a cleft branching from it back towards the stem. A medieval copper alloy rotary key. The key handle (bow) is in the shape of a flat lozenge with four circular perforations, one of which is incomplete. The upper point of the lozenge is surmounted with a, squat cylindrical terminal with two piercings in the base (one to either side of the faces of the lozenge).One of the piercings is incomplete due to ancient damage. The shank is oval in cross-section and hollow. The key bit consists of an L-shaped plate with a cleft between the shaft of the key and the plate. A flint core of Mesolithic to early Neolithic date. The object is conical with one platform at the top of the object and parallel striking down one face. Ripples are visible where one flake has been removed and at least four blades. On the opposite face an area of cortex remains to the side of which the core is a mottled blueish-white and yellow colour due to discolouration from the soil. A copper alloy spur attachment of Post-Medieval date. The object has a pointed oval or tear drop shaped stud which is riveted to a lozenge shaped back plate. At the rear of the object the terminal of the circular rivet can be seen. The back plate narrows before flaring out again with a rounded knop at each side. A complete Medieval (1300-1400) copper alloy strap clasp frame with anthropomorphic decoration, in the form of a face. The clasp frame is sub-rectangular in plan and 'U' shaped in cross-section with upturned sides. The bar is narrowed for the (missing) plate while the outside edge is elaborately decorated with an integrally cast head. It has four rows of vertical pits which are unevenly spaced. The object has been coated in oil thereby obscuring the patina and potentially causing damage. A post-medieval lead alloy inkwell dating to AD 1680. The inkwell is broadly hexagonal in plan. In the centre of the upper part of the inkwell an oval hole measuring 22mm in length and 17mm in width. Surrounding the central hole are four small perforations through the upper edge of the object. The perforations are oval in plan with a diameter of c.5mm. A medieval silver grosso from Medieval Bulgaria, produced under Ivan Alexander, (1331-1371), mint: Tarnarvo (Bulgaria), type КБМ 1.13.3 (МПТ Т. 11.2; OJN Т. I.8), the design derived from the Venetian Grosso. The coin dates AD1337-55. Obverse: Christ, nimbate, standing facing, raising hands in benediction; IC XC flanking head, pellets to either side. Reverse: tsar Ivan Alexander and his son prince Michael II Asen, crowned and bearded, in royal apparel and wielding scepters while also holding a standard between them.
