Small cast lead Viking weight which is rectangular in plan. The upper surface has been decorated with a thin plate of copper alloy moulding which has a bright green patina. There is moulding on the top of the copper plate which has been gilded, the remains of which can be seen in the grooves of the decoration. The design is of two spirals with an indistinct moulded animal head where the two circles meet. It is likely to be Hiberno-Scandinavian and can be dated to the late 8th/early 9th century.

Cast lead weight dating from the Roman to the Post-Medieval period, (43-1700). The weight is conical shaped and is sub-circular in cross-section. The object has an irregular circular perforation through the centre of the weight. The outer surface of the object has been decorated with deep grooves. These are irregular and appear to have been 'gouged' out. The base of the object is uneven and the object does not sit flat. The weight may have been used as a loom weight; however other uses for this weight are also possible. It has a brownish grey patina and has been crudely made.

Cast lead Post Medieval weight.
The object is sub-triangular in plan with the narrowed end being the top which has a circular perforation used for attachment. It has a rectangular cross-section throughout. The surface is uneven. Regular diagonal grooves have been cut into one face and both edges of the object. The opposite face has more irregular scratches or grooves.
This sort of weight could have been used for many purposes for many periods and so is difficult to date precisely when found out of context.

Cast lead weight probably dating from the Medieval to Post-Medieval period. The weight is in the shape of a face. The top of the object is decorated with radiating grooves, possibly meant to represent a hat or hair. The eyes are oval and the noise long and narrow. The mouth is oval and there is a slightly raised chin. The reverse of the object has an oval irregular groove where the object has been infilled with lead. This indicates that it was made to represent a particular weight as was its function. The object has a light-brown patina and is in good condition.
