A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date. The object is circular in plan with central circular perforation. The perforation is uneven and has an internal diameter of 11mm. Each face is undecorated and worn. The object has a dark cream patina and is in fair condition. Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the medieval period c.1100-1500. Dimensions: 29mm in diameter, 3.5mm thick, 26.3g.

The nicks are on opposite sides of the perforation. The object has a mid-brown patina.
