A copper alloy dolphin brooch probably Roman (see Hattat's Visual Guide Fig 157 - 160 for similar). The one wing which remains is tubular, but semi-circular in cross-section with a ridge at the end. The second wing has been lost. The head of the brooch rises up to form a typical dolphin profile, and then tapers down forming the bow. The bow has broken at the bottom. The head is relatively bulky (see also Mackreth Plates 46 - 48 for similar). A copper alloy purse bar dating from the late medieval to Post Medieval period, about AD 1450 - 1600. It is of Williams Class C2, having a short bar, and a shield shaped block. The bar is oval in section, with a recessed area in which the (missing) frame would articulate. The bar terminates with a globular knop at one end and missing the knop at the other end. The block has a flat top, straight sides which then angle inwards towards the base. A silver clasped hands finger ring. Treasure Case: 2019 T817. Description: A complete post medieval, silver 'fede' finger ring. The bezel depicts two hands clasped together, the details of the fingers are picked out with shallow incised lines. Flanking the hands on both sides are rectangular shaped cuffs. The cuffs are decorated with incised traverse lines, one at the top and two lines at the bottom. Four fragments of copper alloy casting waste. The fragments were one object upon discovery and have since broken and separated. Each fragment is irregular in plan and has a mid-green patina. Dimensions: Large: 28mm x 30mm Medium: 11mm x 15mm 2 X small: 10-15mm Combined weight: 17.5g Due to the nature of this find an exact date can not be given. However a Bronze Age flanged axehead LVPL-AC4D8B was recovered from the same field suggesting an early date is possible.

An incomplete fragment of a copper alloy stirrup dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). The front of the object is decorated with three raised vertical ridges. The rear face is undecorated. Extending out from the one side of the cover-plate the stirrup arm (broken into two parts) curves inwards. A complete cast copper alloy long flanged axehead (developed flat axe) dating from the final phase of the Early to the earliest Middle Bronze Age (c. 2000 - 1700 BC). The axehead is most probably of the axe type Arreton which is dated to Early Bronze Age III, of metalworking stage V, which corresponds to Needham's (1996) Period 3 circa 2000 - 1700 CAL BC. The object has straight sides, a damaged butt end and a flared cutting edge with concave shoulders. The cutting edge is crescentic in plan and measures 60mm in width and is 4mm thick. Treasure Case: 2019 T700 An incomplete gold finger ring of medieval date (c.AD1200-1400). The plain hoop is round in plan, tapers from the shoulders toward the base. The hoop is D-shaped in cross section at the shoulders before tapering to a flattened oval cross-section. The hoop has been pulled out of shape, possibly due to damage within the plough soil. The thicker part of the shoulders of the hoop are soldered to the sub-rectangular bezel and joined by the form of a thin triangular attachment and holds the bezel in place. The strap end consists of a single sheet of copper alloy which has been folded widthways and would have been secured at the open end with rivets. One element of a two-part, cast copper alloy swivel, of medieval date, about AD 1100 - 1500. It consists of a ring of metal, flattened at one side, where there is a projecting integral void in which the second part would have rotated. The projection is faceted on each face. On each side of the ring are moulded projections which are very worn but which may have been zoomorphic in style. The object has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition.
