Cast copper alloy object dating from the Iron Age to Roman period, (800BC-410AD). The object consists of a face with an integral perforated suspension loop. The object is oval in plan and semi-circular in cross-section. The face is flat and the head expands backwards. The face has incised lentoid eyes, a wide, slightly raised noise and a broad smiling mouth. The hair consists of eight long raised ridges. The function is uncertain however it is likely to have been used as a weight and or a pendant. The object has a dark brown patina and is in good condition.

Cast lead shield shaped weight dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). The object is shield-shaped in plan and rectangular in cross-section. The upper surface has a raised central shield-shaped panel. This is separated from the rounded outer border by a deep groove. The outer edges are rounded. There is a crude design in the raised field which is possibly a lion facing left. However the design is too worn to be certain. Similar examples can be seen on p.38, Biggs and Withers, (2000).

Cast lead weight probably dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). The object is oval in plan and D-shaped in cross section. The upper surface is decorated with raised mouldings. Moulded lines radiate out from the central raised peak forming squares. Six moulded pellets decorate each square. Six linear mouldings radiate outwards from the squares. This form of decoration is similar to that seen on Medieval spindle whorls. The reverse of the object is undecorated and has a slight depression in the centre. The upper surface of the weight is decorated with an irregular moulded cross. The reverse of the object bears a moulded line with a central circle. The weight is crudely made and has a mid-grey patina. Weights such as this were in use from the Medieval through to the Post-Medieval period and are often hard to date due to their popularity over time.

There is no visible decoration on the object. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The upper surface displays signs of recent damage possibly due to the plough. The object has a light brown patina and can be dated to the 14th century. Similar weights can be found on p78, Mills, (1999).

Cast copper alloy cup weight dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). It is circular in plan. The raised outer rim is decorated with a series of 22 punched dots. The inner base of the object has been scored several times in an irregular pattern. A hole has also been punched through the base. It is possibly that this was done to render the weight useless. The remains of guiding can be seen on the object. Cup weights were used to weigh gold and silver as scrap metal or coins, and other precious material. A cast copper-alloy object, probably a trade weight of late-Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It is circular in form, trapezoidal in cross section, with a concave front face and flat back face. At the centre of the front face there is a small raised area of copper-alloy, and at the centre of the back face is a small circular hole with raised edges as if it had been drilled or turned. Any identifying decoration or markings on either face of the object are now missing due to extensive encrustation and wear.
