A copper-alloy unidentified object of Unknown date and uncertain function. This 'Y'-shaped hollow object has three cylindrical arms. One arm is longer than the other two and each arm swells towards their terminal ends. Each of the arms has a small circular longitudinal perforation, suggesting that it could have been threaded onto a relatively thin string or strings, perhaps to hold them in place and distribute them evenly. An incomplete lead alloy object of uncertain function. The object is semi-circular in plan and is flat. On one face two circumferential ridges border the object. The opposite face is rough and pitted with two conjoined large circular depressions which measure 14mm in diameter. Due to its undiagnostic nature it cannot be dated closely however the condition of the lead suggests a Medieval to Post-Medieval date is likely. The object may have functioned as a palm guard however these tend to be D-shaped in cross-section allowing them to sit comfortably in the hand. Palm guards were f…

The object tapers in width at one end measuring 6mm in width and is wider at the opposite end which measures 11mm in width. Dimensions: 15mm in length, 11mm in width, 3mm thick, 2.1g The object has a mid-green patina and both the front and rear of the object is silvered. Due to the fragmentary nat…

The object appears to be anthropomorphic in style however is crudely made and it is therefore uncertain if this is a deliberate style or not. Either side of the 'head' are two semi-circular lugs or 'ears'. In the centre of one face of the object is a long pointed triangular projection which may form a possible nose. Either side of this is a single circular pit which may represent eyes however they are uneven with the right (viewed facing) 'eye' being higher than that on t…
