An lead alloy object of uncertain function. The object is circular in plan and is D-shaped in cross-section. The flat face is rough and uneven with no visible pitting. Due to its undiagnostic nature it cannot be dated closely however the condition of the lead suggests a Post-Medieval date is likely. The object may have functioned as a palm guard however there are no diagnostic features. Palm guards were for use by a leather worker to protect the palm whilst stitching. Bailey (1995, 64-65) dates such objects to the 17th century onwards.

Copper-alloy object of uncertain function. It probably dates to the Post-Medieval period. It is sub-rectangular in plan and rectangular in section. The object consists of a piece of copper alloy which has been folded at the base to form two arms. The base is rectangular, it then narrows to form a waist, and expands outwards again in a sub-diamond shape. The top of the object has serrated teeth. It is undecorated and there are no rivet holes visible. It has a dark brownish green patina.

A copper alloy zoomorphic unidentified object probably of Post-Medieval date. The object is C-shaped in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. It consists of a curved outer frame which terminates with an animal head at one end. The opposite end is broken but is likely to have featured an identical terminal. The terminal is in the form of an animal, possibly a snake or a dog with moulded rounded ears and ridged brows. The eyes are no longer visible and the jaws are open wide. A cast lead alloy ammonite of Post-Medieval to Modern date. The object is sub-circular in plan and uniface. The curled body of the ammonite decorates the outer face while the rear of the object is flat but pitted. The object has a dark cream patina and is in fair condition. It may have been cast from a fossil and would have been relatively easy to make. The coat of arms of Whitby Abbey shows three curled snakes, previously represented as ammonites. An incomplete cast copper alloy unidentified object probably dating to the 16th century. The object consists of a rectangular band from which projects three sub-rectangular sectioned 'arms' which expand into three conjoined ovals. The voids between each 'arm' forms openwork decoration. The oval projections are decorated with moulded cross-hatching. The outer face of the object is gilded while the internal face is undecorated. It is curved in profile. The exact function of this object is unknown however the style and gilding suggest a 16th century date.

The mouth of the object is heart shaped and is decorated with a circumferential groove just below the rim. Three more circumferential grooves decorate the outer face of the body of the object. On one side of the object is a small D-shaped projection or handle which has been riveted to the object. The base of the object is uneven. It has a greenish brown patina.

On one face of the object is an impression of an imperial orb surmounted by a cross, within an ornamental tressure that has three arches. The rear of the object is decorated with cross-hatching. The imperial orb is of the type usually found on copper Rose/Orb jettons of Hans Krauwinckel II. These jettons can be dated from AD1586-1635. It has a dark grey patina.

An incomplete lead alloy three-dimensional unidentified object of post medieval date. It is U-shaped in plan with a narrow rounded top and is open at the bottom. Between each face at the base project two curved strips of lead alloy which taper in width to a point, these may have origionally joined to form a loop. An iron rivet runs between attaching both faces together. The object is decorated on each face with a central moulded pannel of rings and diagonal ridges. Three verticle ridges decorate one side of the central pannel.

The edges of the tab are rounded and measure 5mm thick. Projecting from either side of the base towards the inner face are two flat angled arms. Silver artefact comprising a bar with three thistle heads spaced at even intervals. The purpose of this object is unclear. Something may have been attached to the bar between the thistle ornaments and turned around it. Given that we are unaware of its function, it is very difficult to date. So possibly later than 1710. As the find cannot be securely dated to pre-1710 it falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
