Silver artefact comprising a bar with three thistle heads spaced at even intervals. The purpose of this object is unclear. Something may have been attached to the bar between the thistle ornaments and turned around it. Given that we are unaware of its function, it is very difficult to date. So possibly later than 1710. As the find cannot be securely dated to pre-1710 it falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996. The object is possibly part of a hollow cast lead alloy figurine or toy however its exact function is unknown. It probably dates from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval period.
