A cast copper alloy object of uncertain date and function. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and cross-section. Each end of the object curves downwards with a rounded outer edge while the inner edge turns at a 45 degree angle. In the centre of the object a deep vertical groove decorates each face. The object is D-shaped in plan and consists of a straight hexagonal sectioned side which narrows into a curved side with an undulating outer edge. File marks are visible on each face of the object. There is no visible wear where a connection/strap may have been attached. The object appears to be complete and has a dark green patina. Possible uses include harness or strap fitting.
