Record ID: LVPL-6279A3
Object type: UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Northamptonshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete cast copper alloy unidentified object probably dating to the 16th century. The object consists of a rectangular band from which projects three sub-rectangular sectioned 'arms' which expand into three conjoined ovals. The voids between each 'arm' forms openwork decoration. The oval projections are decorated with moulded cross-hatching. The outer face of the object is gilded while the internal face is undecorated. It is curved in profile. The exact function of this object is unknown however the style and gilding suggest a 16th century date.
