Cast lead object of uncertain date and function. The object is sub-oval in plan and in cross-section. There is a slight groove running around each side of the object. The surface of one face of the object curves round to almost touch the opposite face leaving a space between. This also occurs at the opposite end of the object from the opposite face. The surfaces are uneven and undecorated. The object has a white patina.

Cast lead object of uncertain date and function. The object is an irregular pointed oval in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. A deep groove runs around the side of the object and the two faces appear to have been pressed inwards slightly. On one surface there are two stamped triangular depressions. The surface of the object is pitted and uneven. It has a brownish-white patina.

Incomplete small lead object dating from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval period, (1100-1700). The object is circular in plan. Projecting from the rim of the object are two triangular loops, one of which is broken. On the opposite side are the remains of two more loops. Within the bowl of the object is a stepped rim just above the base. In the centre of the base within the object is a raised circular projection which also projects through to the bottom of the base. An fragment of an unidentified object possibly dating from the Roman through to the Medieval period. The fragment consists of lead which has been chip-carved and gilded on the upper face. The decoration consists of a large C-shaped swirl within which is a smaller crescent shaped swirl. This pattern is repeated with the upper decoration mirroring the lower so that the crescent shape turns the opposite way. Each edge of the object is broken. A cast lead alloy ammonite of Post-Medieval to Modern date. The object is sub-circular in plan and uniface. The curled body of the ammonite decorates the outer face while the rear of the object is flat but pitted. The object has a dark cream patina and is in fair condition. It may have been cast from a fossil and would have been relatively easy to make. The coat of arms of Whitby Abbey shows three curled snakes, previously represented as ammonites. Taking the location of the find spot into account in the parish of Whitby this may represent a pilgrim's souvenir or a more modern tour…

An incomplete lead alloy object of uncertain function. The object is semi-circular in plan and is flat. On one face two circumferential ridges border the object. The opposite face is rough and pitted with two conjoined large circular depressions which measure 14mm in diameter. Due to its undiagnostic nature it cannot be dated closely however the condition of the lead suggests a Medieval to Post-Medieval date is likely.
