Cast lead object of uncertain date and function. The object is sub-oval in plan and in cross-section. There is a slight groove running around each side of the object. The surface of one face of the object curves round to almost touch the opposite face leaving a space between. This also occurs at the opposite end of the object from the opposite face. The surfaces are uneven and undecorated. The object has a white patina.

A deep groove runs around the side of the object and the two faces appear to have been pressed inwards slightly. On one surface there are two stamped triangular depressions. The surface of the object is pitted and uneven. It has a brownish-white patina.

Due to its undiagnostic nature it can not be dated closely however the condition of the lead suggests a Medieval to Post-Medieval date is likely. The object may have functioned as a plam guard however these tend to be D-shaped in cross-section allowing them to sit comfortably in the hand. The object may have functioned as a gaming piece or weight, however due to its un-diagnostic nature this cannot be certain. Alternatively it may have been formed as casting waste. The light cream patina is suggestive of an early date however objects such as this were in use from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period.

An unidentified lead alloy object, of uncertain date. The object is rectangular in plan and flat. It is stamped with the Roman numeral or letter V in the centre through which there is a crack. The rear of the object is undecorated. It has a light brown patina. The object may have functioned as a Post-Medieval cloth seal which were often rectangular; however although the upper edge is incomplete, there is no evidence of attachment. Another possibility is that it was metal working debris used as a practice piece.
