Description: The object is a strip of silver with a pattern of what appear to be stamped lines on one side, cut at both ends and bent. There are no visible test marks, and no trace of solder or other fastening. Dimensions: 8mm wide, and 1mm thick. Weight 4.52g Discussion: The object has some similarities with so-called broad-band arm-rings of the late 9th and 10th centuries, produced in Viking contexts around the Irish Sea. Such pieces were commonly cut-up as 'hack-silver', valued by weight within a bullion economy. Finds of arm-rings of this type are recorded from Viking hoar…

A lead alloy object of uncertain date and function. The object has a flat base, bulbous body and long tubular neck. At the top of the neck the object flattens out forming a rim. The mouth of the object has been damaged. A circular hole runs through the length of the object and its use as a vessel would therefore be impractical. The hole measures 4.5mm in width. Above the base of the object the lower body is decorated with two transverse rows of grooves in the form of rope-work. Possible functions for the object may be as a votive offering representing a vessel, or a toy. The light …

Lead fragment, possibly dating to the Medieval or Post-Medieval period, of uncertain function. It is irregular in plan and slightly curved in profile. The base of the fragment is decorated with a deep groove which is decorated with three moulded pellets interspersed with four moulded dashes. Above the groove is a rectangular vertical strip. Cast bronze object of uncertain date and function. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and rectangular in cross-section. The surface of the object is uneven; one edge is straight while the others have broken in antiquity. There is a large circular perforation at the top edge of the object and a smaller perforation diagonal to this at the lower edge. These may have been intended to contain rivets. The function of the object is unknown however the patina indicates that it has some age to it. It has a mid-green patina.
