An incomplete copper alloy probable cosmetic implement of Roman date. The object is slightly curved in profile. It has an oval sectioned flattened handle with a hammered expanded terminal. The opposite end of the object expands in width and flattens terminating with a point with one tapered side. This end is sub-triangular in plan. The object is notched along the edge giving it a 'knife-like' appearance. It is unclear whether this notching is deliberate or due to wear and damage. A cast copper alloy tweezers probably dating to the Roman period, (AD43-410). The tweezers are formed from a single piece of copper alloy which is rectangular in cross-section. This has been folded over on itself at a defined loop to form a sprung end. The two arms of the tweezers touch together at the loop end and are separate at the gripping end. A notch has been cut away from the object at each side at the base of the loop, and again just below the top of the loop. Cast copper alloy tweezers dating of Roman to Anglo-Saxon date. They are almost complete and consist of a single piece of copper alloy. Each arm of the object is joined by the attachment loop at the top. The arms are narrow below the loop and flare outwards towards the ends. An incised marginal groove runs parallel to both edges. Where the arms start to flare outwards there are two horizontal grooves. Below these grooves are a central line of five ring-and-dot decorations.
