A lead alloy rectangular 'tag' or strip probably of post-medieval date. The object is rectangular in plan and is flat. The object has been pierced or punched through four times. Three of the perforations are sub-rectangular while one appears to be two conjoined circles. The perforations are unevenly spaced and may have been used in order to thread the 'tag' onto an object. A grooved spiral surrounds one of the punched holes. Following the perforations the object is stamped on each face with Roman numerals which read XXVII. This can be translated as 27.
