A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval date. The object is circular in plan and biconical. The object has a damaged central perforation measuring 9mm in diameter. The outer edge of the object is decorated with three lobed projections. A square-sectioned length of lead alloy, measuring 18mm in length, was recovered with the spindle whorl and may have originally been attached. On once face of the object moulded ring-and-dot decoration is visible. The opposite face is worn.

An incomplete lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval date. The object would have been circular in plan when complete with a central circular perforation. One side of the object is missing and it has been stretched out. An even patina suggests that this damage took place during antiquity. Each face of the object is decorated with a series of ring-and-dot decoration consisting of a raised pellet with a moulded circular ring.

It is almost complete, with a ridged line running around the outer perimeter which is slightly chipped away in places. A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval date. The object is circular in plan and oval in cross-section. The object has a large central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 10mm. One face of the spindle whorl is decorated with a moulded star burst design with a six pointed star. Between each point of the star is a single flattened pellet. The opposite face is decorated with a worn design of three flattened pellets and a fourth pellet below the central one. A copper alloy spindle whorl of Roman to later Medieval date (1100 - 1500 AD). The object is circular in plan and bi-conical. It has a central circular perforation measuring 7.94mm. Both sides of the object have been decorated with raised lines which radiate down from the perforation.
The main body of the object is surrounded by a sub-oval sectioned band. This outer band joins the main body of the spindle whorl via eight oval sectioned 'spokes', resulting in four sub-triangular perforations, or openwork decoration, around the central piece.

A cast lead alloy spindle whorl dating from the Roman to the Post-Medieval period, (AD 43-1700). The object is circular in plan and bi-conical. It has a central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 9.72mm. Each face is decorated with very worn moulded lines. On one face the lines appear to form a possible runic or psudo-runic script. If not entirely fictional and imitative, it is possible that the runes may relate to an individual's name, or perhaps are a religious inscription. However they are too worn to be certain. The object has a light white patina.
