Medieval lead spindle whorl. The object is circular in plan and is decorated with raised lines in the form of an eight pointed star on the upper surface. There is some damage in the form of dents in the upper outer edge. It has a diameter of 29.00mm, it is 7mm thick and weighs 29.3g. It has a perferated central hole.

Medieval lead spindle whorl. It is circular in plan and flat. It is decorated on both sides with a raised line which borders the central perforation, the outer edge, and another between these two. Four lines radiate out from the central perforation to the outer edge and two smaller lines radiate out in between these. Pellets occur between each of these lines. It displays some signs of ware on both sides.

Medieval lead spindle whorl. It is flat and has a central perforated hole. Around the central perforation is decorated with a sun burst pattern. This design is repeated with the projections running to the outer edge. There are raised pellets in each section. The opposite side is also decorated in a similar manner with a sun burst pattern around the central perforation. There are raised circular pellets in each section. Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typical…

Cast lead medieval spindle whorl. It is circular in plan and biconical in shape with a central preforation. The upper surface is decorated with two raised circular lines arround the central preforation. Seven raised lines radiate out from these circles to the outer raised border. There are seven raised pellets in between each radiating line, with two pellets in one section. The opposite surface is also decorated with a raised circle bordering the central preforation. Raised lines radiate out from this in a zig-zag pattern. 15 pellets decorate the surface throught the zig-zag lines…
