Neck and shoulder of small green glass pharmaceutical phial dating to 1600-1700. It has a short neck. The glass is pale green in colour and quite thin, 1.44mm. The rim is 5.27mm wide and most of it has broken away. Only one side of the shoulder remains. Phials were introduced during the seventeenth century and continued into the nineteenth century. They were hand blown and the earliest types are of thin green glass.
