Possible mirror of unknown date. It is circular in plan and rectangular in section. One surface has a mid-green patina. The other surface has a blackish patina and a silver reflective patina where it has been recently polished.
The object has undergone SEM EDX testing at the National Conservation Centre. The results concluded that it has a high silver peak and a very small/trace copper peak for the area where the corrosion has been removed. Considering the surface condition there was not accurate enough results to indicate, for instance, whether the disc was made of sterling silver…
