A cast copper alloy signet finger ring dating to the Post-Medieval period, (c. 17th century AD). The object is incomplete with a fragment of the lower part of the hoop missing due to a recent break. The hoop flares (expands) at the shoulders of the ring to form the bezel. The bezel is oval in plan and flat. Its device is sunken so that the ring can be used for sealing. The device consists of a bird, perhaps a swan, facing right on the die (left on the impression) on three undulating lines representative of water. The finger-ring shows a coat of arms which Dr Clive Cheeseman (Richmond Herald, College of Arms) has described as "being made up of a shield and a crest, with helmet and full mantling engraved in what appears to be a 17th century style. A large medieval gold finger-ring, with a raised oval bezel with four claws, now missing its stone. The shoulders are of stirrup-shape form. The hoop is now bent, and the top of the bezel and the claws are slightly distorted. The finger-ring dates from the 13th to 14th century. Dimensions: diameter 26.5 mm, height 27 mm, width of bezel 11 mm.

The bezel measures 7.64mm in width and 17.55mm in length. It is broken at one end of the bezel where the hoop would have joined. The hoop is very narrow measuring 1.51mm in width and is 0.79mm thick. A small white metal finger ring probably dating to the Roman period. The object is oval in plan with a rectangular cross-section. The hoop is narrowest at the back measuring 4mm in width. It expands in width towards the bezel which is rectangular and flat measuring 10mm in length and 7mm in width. The bezel is decorated with four incised linear grooves which form a central lozenge shaped panel. The shoulders are decorated with three sets of disconnected V shaped grooves below which is an incised X. The object has a mid-grey patina and weighs just 0.9g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring dating to the Roman period. The object is corresponding to Henig's type XII. One side of the incomplete bezel is present which would have surrounded a gem. The surround of the bezel edge is gilded. The shoulder of the object is D-shaped in cross-section and tapers forming the hoop. Each side of the finger ring terminates with a break. The hoop object has a mid-grey patina.

This is possibly intended to represent a series of letter Ms, perhaps standing for Maria. The ring probably dates to the 13th to 15th century. Dimensions: maximum diameter 21 mm, width 3 mm.

A cast copper alloy finger ring dating to the late Anglo-Saxon period. The object has an elongated lozengiform bezel which is decorated with three visible ring-and-dot motifs. It is flat in cross-section. The bezel tapers at each end into the band of the finger ring. Each end of the band is complete with a rounded terminal. Cf. A late medieval silver-gilt finger-ring of D-shaped section. The ring is broken at the point at which the hoop was soldered and joined, and distorted, but otherwise complete. It is decorated with a series of diagonal lines forming triangular spaces, which are filled in with rows of small circular stamped decoration. The gilding survives mainly within the impressed diagonal lines and on the inside of the hoop. The ring dates from the 15th century.

A copper-alloy finger ring probably dating from the late Iron Age to the early Roman period. The object consists of a single strip of copper alloy which is oval in cross-section. The strip has been wound round to create a spiral of two complete turns which are tightly coiled. Each terminal is rounded. The object has a mid-green patina and is in good condition. PAS Iron Age and Roman Training notes (unpublished) cite a similar ring from Camerton, Somerset (1990).
