A copper alloy finger ring of post-medieval date. The ring is circular in plan with a D-shaped cross section and is formed from a strip of copper alloy which joins to form a hoop. The ring is dark brown in colour with silver visible on the outer face of the hoop. There is no bezel, decoration or inscription visible.

An incomplete copper alloy finger ring of Roman date. The object consists of a flat rectangular strip of copper alloy curved round into a circle. The join is separate and has been damaged. Each edge of the object is notched and two horizontal ridged bands decorate the circumference. The internal face of the object is undecorated. The ring has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition.
The object is possibly remade from a Roman bracelet. Similar examples which can be found on the database include WILT-E5DC53 and BERK-C05CE3.
Dimensions: 14mm in diameter, 7mm in height, 1.1g.

A copper alloy wire finger ring of unknown date, Bronze Age to Modern, 2350 BC - AD 2014, but most likely to be Post Medieval or Modern (AD 1500 - 2014). It is made from a single piece of circular sectioned wire. The hoop of the ring is made from eight turns of wire some of which are touching and some of which are spaced apart. The terminal consists of one end of wire threaded up through the inside of the ring to meet the opposite end of wire. A copper alloy finger ring of medieval date. The ring has an undecorated hoop of even width and no shoulders, measuring 5mm in width and 21mm in diameter. The bezel which is separately soldered onto the hoop is in the form of a cross pattee which is pierced in the centre with a circular hole. The object has a mid-green patina and is in good condition.
Examples of similar finger rings in silver can be found on the PAS database and have been dated to c.1200-1400, see NMS-D16488, NMS-280BC7 and YORYM-3ECB52.

A complete copper alloy finger ring made from a flat strip of copper alloy. Probably Post Medieval (AD 1500 - AD 1600).
The outer surface of the hoop is decorated with moulded repetitive wave-shaped motifs. The joint where the two ends of the strip abut is clearly visible. The inside of the hoop is plain. The ring has a dark green patina and no traces of gilding.
Dimensions: 19.5mm in diameter, 1.50g.

An incomplete copper alloy finger ring of Roman date. The object has an oval bezel with three concentric raised rings. The outer ring is decorated with moulded rope work. Within the central oval and middle oval are the remains of a yellowish white degraded enamel. The shoulders of the object are expanded and taper down to the hoop which narrows in width towards the break. The shoulders are decorated with moulded pellets and swirls however this decoration is obscured by corrosion and adhering iron deposits.

An inlaid gold bezel from an early medieval finger-ring. The bezel is quatrefoil in form, with four rounded lobes radiating from a central field to create a cruciform motif. One pair of lobes is shorter than the other, and the areas linking them are slightly convex.

A Silver finger ring of Medieval date, 2014 T616. The finger ring has a circular band, 2.98mm wide which widens to the shoulders to a width of 6.47mm. There is a circular collet with a beveled edge at the bezel with no longer contains a setting. The hoop has been bent out of shape with the shoulder on one side breaking away from the centre of the base of the collet. The shoulders are stamped with shallow and worn decoration consisting of a central inverted triangle either side of which is a worn sub-oval shape.

An incomplete silver 'fede' type finger ring, probably 15th-early 16th century date. The hoop is rectangular in section with a worn and illegible inscription on the outer face with a saltire cross at the end of the inscription.

A large medieval gold finger-ring, with a raised oval bezel with four claws, now missing its stone. The shoulders are of stirrup-shape form. The hoop is now bent, and the top of the bezel and the claws are slightly distorted.
The finger-ring dates from the 13th to 14th century.

A cast copper alloy finger ring dating to the late Anglo-Saxon period. The object has an elongated lozengiform bezel which is decorated with three visible ring-and-dot motifs. It is flat in cross-section. The bezel tapers at each end into the band of the finger ring. Each end of the band is complete with a rounded terminal.

There is a small join visible where the hoop was soldered together. The object was possibly inscribed on the inside as a faint impression remains. Cast copper alloy finger ring dating to the Medieval period. The object is 'stirrup' shaped with a slender hoop rising to a pointed bezel. At the top of the bezel is an oval recess for a setting, now missing. The sides of this setting have been broken. The hoop is D-shaped in cross-section. The hoop worn and uneven, one side of the hoop measures 2.13mm in width while the opposite side measures 3.35mm, just below the bezel. The object is dark golden brown and has been heavily cleaned.

A cast copper alloy finger ring dating from the Medieval to Post-Medieval period. The ring has a D-shape sectioned hoop and is circular in plan. The wide hoop of the finger ring has been cast in the form of a buckled strap, with a pointed tongue, three punched circles to indicate pierced holes, and a strap loop defined by two incised lines. The buckle is suggested by a raised area but it is quite worn. The lower two thirds of the hoop’s outer surface are undecorated.
