A silver medieval double patard of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, dating to the period AD 1467 - 1477. Cross fleuretty reverse. Uncertain mint.
An agreement under Edward IV in 1469 confirmed the Low Countries coinage of Duke Charles as legal tender in England. In the late 15th and early 16th century, double patards of Charles the Bold were a part of the English currency and feature regularly in hoards alongside English groats as well as being recovered as single finds.
