An early-medieval copper-alloy styca of Aethelred II of Northumbria (probably first reign, 840 - 844), moneyer: Odilo. Ref: Pirie 1996.
The obverse central motif on the reverse is a cross pattee (Pirie motif 1), on the reverse a cross of pellets (Pirie motif 6) .
The spelling of Aethelred appears to be EDILRED (L inverted) placing it into Pirie's group C although Odilo is not listed for this group,
