An incomplete copper alloy late Iron Age to early Roman button and loop fastener, dating from c.AD 1-200, Wild Class 3. The fastener is sub-triangular in plan with one end terminating in a rounded point while the opposite end is straight. In the centre of the object is a circular boss surrounded by a raised cordon. Either side of the central boss is a sub oval, or 'tear shaped' perforation. A small fragment of blue enamel is visible on the rectangular end of the body of the object. The head is decorated with two rows of enamel. The enamel sits within triangular cells facing back to back with a row of five blue triangular cells separated by a line of copper alloy from a row of five yellow triangular cells. An incomplete copper alloy button and loop fastener of the Early Roman period, dating from c. 50 - c. 150 AD. The head of the fastener is an open work circle which is D-shaped in cross-section. A raised bifurcated triangular moulding with a central groove projects from the upper edge of the head. Below the moulding on the rear of the object, the integral shank extends. A complete cast copper alloy of Iron Age to early Roman date. The head of the fastener is circular in plan with a diameter of 23.80mm. The head has a round circumferential border and a central circular recess. The recess is decorated with two ring-in-dot decorations which have been integrally cast. The shaft projects 7mm from the centre of the rear face of the head at an angle of about 90° before forming an ovoid-shaped loop which is more pointed at the bottom than at the top.
