An almost complete copper alloy disc-on-pin buckle of medieval date (AD1200-1350). The object has an annular frame which is oval in cross-section. The frame has a notched constriction in which the pin rests. Narrow notches on the back of the frame would have held a wire bar at right angles to the pin, but this is missing. The cast copper alloy pin is looped round the constriction. The centre of the pin expands into a circular disc decorated with an oval hollow in the centre, (Redmayne Type B). A copper alloy buckle of Medieval date. The object is oval in plan with two projecting terminals at either end. At one end the projection is sub-rectangular in cross-section tapering in width to the end and is straight. The opposite terminal curves upwards towards the buckle frame, terminating with a zoomorphic head. The terminal forms the head of an animal, possibly a snake and has a ridged brow and rounded snout. A copper alloy decorative double looped buckle of medieval to post-medieval date. The buckle is pentagonal in plan with one rectangular loop and one loop with a pointed outer frame. The loops are divided by an integral strap bar which sits on top of the frame with a rectangular moulding at each end. The strap bar consists of two curved arches the base of the 'legs' of which are flat. An incomplete copper alloy spur buckle of medieval date. The oval frame of the buckle is missing while the decorative integral plate and pin remain. The pin sits within the hole of the integral strap bar which is decorated with horizontal ribs. The pin is complete and consists of a single strip of copper alloy which loops over the strap bar. The sides of the buckle and strap bar, which would have been offset, are missing due to ancient breaks. A copper alloy sub-rectangular shoe or knee buckle of Post-Medieval date. The buckle frame has been drilled for a separate spindle which is missing as is the pin. The frame is decorated with moulded transverse lines and grooves. Each end has a projecting rectangular moulding decorated with five small notches. There is a recess for the pin to rest at each end of the frame. The object is in good condition and has a dark brown patina and has been tinned. A similar example can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p100, no. 632 and has been dated to AD c.1600-1720.

A silver complete single loop buckle of Meols type 4 dating from the Medieval period, about AD 1350 - 1400. Treasure case: 2015 T294. The frame is D-shaped in plan and the upper face is bevelled. There is a small, pointed knop in the centre of the outer edge which is notched to take the pin. The strap bar is offset and the pin remains attached and complete. The pin is lozenge shaped in cross-section and measures 11.66mm in length and 2.30mm in width at its base. The base of the pin flares out and is sub-rectangular. The outer frame has a lobed knop on each end and a separate copper alloy sheet roller between. The pin remains attached to the strap bar and is almost complete. File marks are visible on the strap bar. Both the pin and the sheet roller have a light green patina while the buckle frame has a mid-brown patina. Similar examples can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p23. Measurements: 16.03mm in length, 22.60mm in width, 3.30mm thick, 2.4g.
