An incomplete copper alloy brooch of the cruciform type, dating to the early Anglo-Saxon period, from c. AD 500-550. The head of the brooch is mostly missing with only a small fragment and one partial wing remaining. From the centre of the lower edge of the headplate a D-sectioned arched bow extends downwards with ridged moulding at each corner. The lower bow is flat and recessed with zoomorphic projections. An incomplete copper alloy Roman headstud brooch (AD c. 75 - c. 200). The head of the brooch consists of two rectangular wings, decorated with two lozenges (one above the other) on each wing. The bow tapers in width tapering in an ancient break above the foot, and has a circular, ring-and-dot 'headstud' moulding at the apex of the bow. The recess between the central dot and the ring may have once held enamel. The bow of the brooch is decorated with a series of central lozenge shaped cells. An almost complete copper alloy Colchester derivative, rearhook with fantail brooch dating to the eatrly Roman period. The wings are tubular and hollow, the spring and pin missing. The bow rises up and arches out from the wings before expanding in width towards the foot. Each side of the bow is decorated with a raised vertical rib running from the head to the foot of the object. The ridges are notched. At the rear of the object, the catchplate is almost complete and measures 12mm in length. The object has a smooth dark green patina and is slightly pitted in places.

An incomplete copper alloy brooch of Roman date. The wings are tubular and house a spring made up of nine coils on an axis bar. The spring extends down rearwards to form the pin which is incomplete due to an ancient break. At the top of the wings is a rearward facing hook which would have secured the spring to the head of the brooch. The brooch consists of a strip of copper alloy the 'head' of which tapers in width and curves backwards forming the spring. The spring coils four times before terminating with a break. An incomplete copper alloy headstud brooch dating to the Roman period. The brooch has short wings with no visible decoration. In the centre of the wings is a large notch which would have allowed the pin to pivot. At the top of the head is a moulded ring-and-dot motif below which the bow of the brooch terminates with an ancient break. The leg of the brooch, foot, catchplate and pin are missing. The object has a mid-green patina and can be dated to the 2nd Century AD. A more complete example of a headstud brooch which can be seen on the database is LVPL-6A07C0.

An incomplete copper alloy openwork brooch of medieval date. The frame of the brooch is lozenge shaped (or sub-square) in plan and sub-triangular in cross section. The frame is decorated on three corners with three separately cast and moulded flowers on top of (and running through the centre as a rivet) which is a large rounded bossed rivet. A copper alloy annular brooch of medieval date, c. AD 1200-1300. The object is oval in plan with eight raised collets or cells equidistantly spaced. Four of the cells retain a white material, presumably a fixative whose brightness might have reflected through stones [now lost] were these translucent.
