A complete and slightly misshapen silver-gilt finger-ring. Treasure case no 2016 T545.
A silver ornamental ring, broad flat band with a beaded borders within circumferential ridges. The ring is inscribed with 'star GODDRED'. The band has been cut between each D in the centre of the name with a D either side of the cut.
Inside the band is a maker's mark reading 'RR' (ЯR) back to back and conjoined. The same mark appears on a similar flat band ring in the BM, AF1383 (Dalton Ring Cat. 1912, no. 1302) with a capital letter inscription 'THINK ON ME' (see BM website under search the …

Description and discussion: A medieval silver-gilt plaque depicting the Agnus Dei. The plaque is rectangular with a plain border around all four edges. In the centre is the Agnus Dei, facing right and supporting a cross. Short incised lines have been used for texture on the lamb's coat and the background is cross-hatched.

A silver composite button dating to the Post-Medieval period. The object is hemispherical with a domed top which has been soldered onto a convex back-plate where there are two blow-holes. Inserted into the centre of the back plate and secured by solder is a silver strip, bent to form an attachment loop. The strip is D-shaped in cross-section. There is no makers mark.

Description: The object is a strip of silver with a pattern of what appear to be stamped lines on one side, cut at both ends and bent. There are no visible test marks, and no trace of solder or other fastening.

Discussion: The object has some similarities with so-called broad-band arm-rings of the late 9th and 10th centuries, produced in Viking contexts around the Irish Sea. Silver pendant, ovoid, with a circular attachment loop at the top. The reverse has five circular perforations arranged in the form of a cross. The pendant is set with an orange carnelian intaglio; it depicts a fallen soldier wearing a gladiatorial helmet, facing to the right; he holds a shield towards a large feline, probably a panther, which is rearing up at him.
