Silver pendant, ovoid, with a circular attachment loop at the top. The reverse has five circular perforations arranged in the form of a cross. The pendant is set with an orange carnelian intaglio; it depicts a fallen soldier wearing a gladiatorial helmet, facing to the right; he holds a shield towards a large feline, probably a panther, which is rearing up at him. Treasure case: 2015 T594. An incomplete silver pendant cross. The pendant is cruciform with a flat roundel at its centre from which three circular sectioned arms terminating in globular knops project. The fourth arm from the top of the pendant is missing and would have had a suspension loop at the top. One arm has been bent backwards slightly. A small medieval pendant, circular in form, engraved with the letters IHC. Known as the sacred monogram, these letters signify the name of Jesus and were commonly used in the Middle Ages. The background to the letters was probably enamelled originally. The pendant is hollow and has some depth. The edge between the obverse and reverse is decorated with small circular punches. The suspension loop remains intact and is decorated in a similar way. The pin is silver and dates from the fifteenth or early sixteenth century.

It is a silver sixpence of King William III, dated 1697, which has been converted into a pendant by the addition of a suspension loop. The coin will be of the silver currency standard, i.e. sterling (92.5% fine metal). Its weight is 2.9g, with the loop. The suspension loop has been placed so that the king's portrait is upright, so this was presumably meant to be the side on view. It appears, therefore, that some sort of commemoration of William III was intended.
