Treasure case 2014 T282.
A medieval silver fragment in the shape of a bearded male head dating to the late fourteenth or fifteenth century. The beard is forked and the hair of the fragment is parted between a rising tuft in the middle of the scalp. The face is worn with the nose now rubbed away. The reverse of the fragment shows a small pin which has broken. There is also a breakage at the small tuft of hair on the head of the object. The object was cast and the pin was integral to this process as there are no signs of soldering on the reverse.
