A medieval mount in the form of a miniature shield with the royal coat of arms for England. The quarters with the lions couchant retain their red enamel. The quarters with the fleurs-de-lis have lost their enamel background. The shield is convex and has a means of attachment on the reverse The mount is silver-gilt with enamel, and dates from the mid- to late fourteenth century. Dimensions: height 15 mm, width 11 mm Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. Cast silver mount dating to the Early Medeival period. The object is oval in plan. The upper surface is decorated with Trewhiddle style decoration. There are four beasts, two above and two below, within an oval border. The heads of the beasts are turned backwards and they hold their tails in their mouths. There are two circular perforations on either side of the object which would have been for attachment. The sides of the object are crudely inscribed with lettering (HNHVIDHLA). A silver Roman mount. Treasure case: 2016 T35 Silver horse-harness pendant, originally probably teardrop-shaped by now broken through the middle so missing its terminal. The pendant is composed of sheet silver that narrows to a strip of metal to form the hoop, folded over the back and riveted. Although the circular rivet survives, the hoop itself is broken through and missing. The surviving pendant is decorated with lines of punched dots that radiate out from the rivet and a central straight line. In addition there are triangles of punched dots on each shoulder. Treasure case 2014 T282. A medieval silver fragment in the shape of a bearded male head dating to the late fourteenth or fifteenth century. The beard is forked and the hair of the fragment is parted between a rising tuft in the middle of the scalp. The face is worn with the nose now rubbed away. The reverse of the fragment shows a small pin which has broken. There is also a breakage at the small tuft of hair on the head of the object.
