A silver-gilt composite dress hook dating to the early Post-Medieval period. The object consists of a silver lozenge shaped reverse plate with a raised and separate quatrefoil riveted to the back plate by a large domed bossed rivet in the centre. Each point of the quatrefoil terminates with a fleur-de-lis. Between each fleur-de-lis is a rounded projection. The back-plate of the object has engrailed edges and trefoil knops on the apexes. A silver seal matrix dating from the 17th or early 18th century. The matrix face is oval and the conical handle has six facets. The terminal of the handle is an openwork tri-lobed suspension loop, the top loop of which is incomplete. There is a thick hexagonal double collar between the loop and the shaft. The matrix face has a beaded border and the central design is of a crown over a heart pierced by two crossed arrows. Treasure Case: 2016 T1017 A post-medieval silver open thimble of probable 17th century date. The body of the thimble is formed from a strip of sheet metal, wrapped around to form a cylinder. The two ends no longer join and leave a gap with one side slightly pushed inside the other. In shape, the cylinder tapers towards the top. The inner surface of the cylinder is undecorated except for a maker's mark, and has no visible makers mark.
