A small medieval pendant, circular in form, engraved with the letters IHC. Known as the sacred monogram, these letters signify the name of Jesus and were commonly used in the Middle Ages. The background to the letters was probably enamelled originally. The pendant is hollow and has some depth. The edge between the obverse and reverse is decorated with small circular punches. The suspension loop remains intact and is decorated in a similar way. The pin is silver and dates from the fifteenth or early sixteenth century.
