A silver cufflink element. Treasure case:2017 T274. Description: One half of a pair of silver, cuff links of post-medieval date. The cufflink element is circular in plan with a hollow underside and a near-vertical outer face with downward turned rim. The raised design on the upper surface comprises a pair of clasped hands, the wrists emerging from segmented cuffs, a crown located above the hands and a pair of hearts below. A silver cufflink element dating to the Post-Medieval period. The object is circular in plan and is decorated with crown above two hearts in low relief reserved on a stippled field. On the rear of the object the loop is missing. Traces of iron corrosion and a white material possibly lead alloy adhere to the reverse of the objet. The loop is incomplete. The object is a well-known type. Similar examples which have been recorded on the PAS database and as Treasure include NMS-3C11C7 2012T798, LVPL-AC3AA1 2013T23 and LVPL-499C58.
