Silver finger-ring, probably medieval, now slightly distorted and with some damage. The ring is of D-shaped section and is engraved with a zigzag decoration around the outside surface. This is possibly intended to represent a series of letter Ms, perhaps standing for Maria. The ring probably dates to the 13th to 15th century. Dimensions: maximum diameter 21 mm, width 3 mm.

A complete and slightly misshapen silver-gilt finger-ring. Treasure case no 2016 T545. A silver ornamental ring, broad flat band with a beaded borders within circumferential ridges. The ring is inscribed with 'star GODDRED'. The band has been cut between each D in the centre of the name with a D either side of the cut. Inside the band is a maker's mark reading 'RR' (ЯR) back to back and conjoined. Silver-gilt, cast, 'eye' section forming one half a post-medieval 'hooked-clasp and eye' fitting. Possibly in the form of two birds with their backs to each other. One large attachment loop at the base and one smaller one in between the two heads. This report concerns a hoard of Anglo-Saxon silver pennies found on farmland near Preston, Lancs on March 14th, 2010. The coins were discovered by Alan Reynolds, while metal detecting. The precise find-spot is recorded, but it has been agreed that this will only be identified as 'near Preston' for public purposes. The coins are all of a single type, the CRVX type of Æthelræd II, king of England (978-1016), issued in the 990s. A silver coin of unknown ruler, probably Post-Medieval in date. The coin has been rubbed worn on each face. One face is stamped with N star M and another M stamped below at an angle. Below the stamped N is an engraved letter D facing downwards from the base of the N. The opposite face is engraved with the letters WS. The deliberate smoothing of the coin and stamps indicate it may have been reused as a love token.
