A fragment of the stem of a clay pipe of post-medieval date. The object is tubular and is circular in cross-section. A central hole, with an internal diameter of 3mm, runs through the length of the object. Each end of the object terminates with a break. Dimensions: 7mm - width of stem, 3mm - diameter of hole, 23mm in length, 2.10g. Clay tobacco pipe stems are very difficult to date accuratly without accompanying makers mark or bowl. the internal diameter of the hole at 3mm converts to about 7/64" which would suggest that it is a late 17th to early 18th century stem.

A fragment of a ceramic vessel of early post-medieval date, probably 16th century. The fragment is slightly curved in plan and has a glazed outer face which is stamped with four rouletted motifs. The internal fabric of the object is mid-orange with no visible inclusions. The fragment is oxidised resulting in a mid-brownish-orange glaze. A fragment of a ceramic vessel consisting of a circular base only. The object is circular in plan and was in two halves upon discovery, now rejoined by the finder. The upper face of the object is smooth and worn with circumfrential grooves visible and occasional pitting. The lower face of the object is courser with frequemt small inclusions and pitting. On this face are eight crescent depressions created from a finger nail, probably a thumb, being impressed into the clay. Very small patches of degraded green glaze are visible on this face. A pottery body sherd thought to probably be part of a strainer/colander, dating to the medieval period. The fragment is orange-brown in colour implying oxidising firing conditions with a thin brown-grey layer on one side. The fragment contains three holes in it which are angled. The fragment is from a piece of course floor tile from the medieval period. The ceramic appears to be very hard stoneware and is glazed in an orange colour on one side whilst the other side is a brown colour with some white marks. The glaze has a profuse amount of inclusions of varying sizes and colour, however in majority they are a brown colour, with some big black ones. The inclusions on the rest of the tile in contrast are quite sparse. It weighs 26.9g, and is c. 43mm in length, c. 31mm in width and c. 16mm thick.

A pottery body sherd from an unknown type of vessel, dating to the medieval period. The fragment is almost rectangular in shape and is a brown colour except for once side which is distinctly a more light-orange colour, the colouring giving the impression the sherd was fired in a kiln with a more oxidising atmosphere. The fabric is hard earthenware and contains frequent inclusions which are small and black in nature, however there are occasional inclusions that are a little bigger that the others. It weighs 23.1g, and is c. 20mm in length, c. 54mm in width and c. 12mm thick.

A pottery sherd from the handle of a large jug, dating to the medieval period. The fragment is decorated with two line indentions and within them you can see the remains of the glazing of the vessel which is a yellow colour. The sherd itself is mostly brown in colour with the exception of orange areas on one side. The fabric is hard earthenware and there are frequent inclusions of varying sizes which are in majority of a black colour, however there are some that are lightly coloured. It weighs 32.2g, and is c. 36mm in length, c. 50mm in width and c. 10mm thick.

A pottery rim sherd of moulded slip ware from the Post Medieval period, specifically c. AD 1701-1800. The fragment is very slightly curved and is orange in colour with a medium density of dark coloured inclusions, its fabric being hard earthenware. The edge of the rim has a notched, 'pie-crust' looking decoration which was common on 18th Century plates. The thin slip decoration is a yellow colour with dark brown coloured lines and circles along it. It weighs 23.4g, and is c. 47mm in length at the longest point, c. 56mm in width and c. 5mm thick.

A pottery rim sherd from a late medieval bunghole pitcher and the vessel was high fired stoneware. The fragment is curved and has a curved indention along the top which would have been where the lip of the pitcher would have been. The sherd is dark brown in colour with a medium density of black coloured inclusions of varying size as some are noticeably bigger than the others. The is no evidence of decoration implying the vessel was unglazed. It weighs 69.6g, and is c. 47mm in length, c. 72mm in width and c. 13mm thick.
