An incomplete copper alloy trumpet brooch dating to the Roman period. The brooch has atypical oval or 'trumpet' shaped head. The bow tapers in width down the bow where it terminates with an ancient break above the foot. In the centre of the bow is an oval waist moulding consisting of a raised central ridge, bordered by a ridge on each side and another ridge both above and below. A copper alloy fragment of a spur of post-medieval date. The surviving fragment consists of an incomplete arm with an integral figure of eight terminal. This is where the connecting and securing buckles would have been located. The incomplete end terminates with an ancient break. The arm is D-shaped in cross-section. A cast lead alloy spindle whorl or loom weight of probable medieval date. It is oval in plan and conical in section with a flat base. All surfaces are undecorated and have an uneven pale grey patina. The central perforation is 6mm in diameter, and is exposed on one side, presumably due to damage. Lead weights of this form were commonly used throughout the medieval and post-medieval period and are therefore difficult to date accurately. A complete copper alloy probable toggle, or possible awl, of uncertain dating, but probably Post Medieval (AD 1500 to AD 1700). The probable toggle is a pointed oval shape with a circular cross section. Both ends narrow to a blunt point. A narrowed waist is present at the centre. The probable toggle is a greyish-green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss in some of the surface detail.
