A white metal finger ring of uncertain date. The penannualr hoop of a white metal material terminates with rounded ends. The bezel consists of a circular disc, possibly of resin, which tapers up at the sides. Set into the resin like material is a white metal coin of Hiberno-Manx style.  The obverse of the coin depicts a draped bust facing left with four pellets, or a pelleted cross behind the neck and one pelelt in the right field. Treasure Case 2022 T851 Description:  A complete silver gilded eye piece from a hook and eye fastener dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1500-1700). The body of the piece is broadly heart shaped, with sewing loops either side of the point of the loop and a larger loop at the top of the heart. The large hoop is where the hook from the other part of the fastener would have previously been attached. The outer edges which form the shape of the heart consist of foliate branches.  The central design of the piece is reminiscent of an urn with a flat top and rounded body.…

One half of a cast copper alloy quillon or guard, probably from a dagger or knife probably from the early medieval period (c.AD 950-1100). The quillon is an elongated ovate shape with a curved profile and raised rim to the lower aspect. The object has a worn break at the sub-rectangular perforation which has now created a 'U' shape. The underside is grooved towards the perforation as is typical of early medieval quillons. As complete, the perforation would have served as the slot through which the blade would have slotted into the grip. The object has a light green patina. …

An incomplete cast copper alloy end looped cosmetic pestle of late Iron Age to early Roman date (c. 100BC - AD200). The pestle has a cylindrical shank that has a rounded terminal and is slightly curved. At the head of the shank is a worn edge that would have formed the base of the loop. The loop would have extended from the shank and then curved to meet the shank with a rounded tip. An incomplete polished whetstone or hone stone. The object is oval in plan and is a crested oval in cross-section. It is smooth and polished on each face with small concretions adhering to one face. A series of linear scratches on the object are visible on each side. The whetstone has been manufactured from very fine-grained, blue-grey stone. Dimensions: 135mm in length, 50mm in width at the incomplete end, 35mm in width at the narrow end, 45mm thick at the incomplete end, 25mm thick at the narrow end. An incomplete lead alloy harness mount of post-medieval date. Originally it would have been circular with a raised central boss and decorated around the outside with perhaps 12 smaller raised bosses - 2 of which survive. The central boss is damaged and may have been decorated. In the depression between the central and outer bosses there is a raised decoration of touching circles. On the reverse the surface is slightly concave and there is a remnant of what may have been the method of fixing this decorated lead item. A Post Medieval lead token or decoration. The token is circular with raised decoration on the obverse. On the obverse the decoration depicts a shield overlaid with a long cross. The top two quarters of the shield may have a letter in each whilst the bottom two quarters contain a pellet each. The piece is bound by a border of raised zig zag lines. The reverse is blank and flat suggesting that it could have been attached - maybe to leather. The item is slightly buckled probably as a result of damage by a plough.

A copper alloy dolphin brooch probably Roman (see Hattat's Visual Guide Fig 157 - 160 for similar). The one wing which remains is tubular, but semi-circular in cross-section with a ridge at the end. The second wing has been lost. The head of the brooch rises up to form a typical dolphin profile, and then tapers down forming the bow. The bow has broken at the bottom. Four fragments of copper alloy casting waste. The fragments were one object upon discovery and have since broken and separated. Each fragment is irregular in plan and has a mid-green patina. Dimensions: Large: 28mm x 30mm Medium: 11mm x 15mm 2 X small: 10-15mm Combined weight: 17.5g Due to the nature of this find an exact date can not be given. However a Bronze Age flanged axehead LVPL-AC4D8B was recovered from the same field suggesting an early date is possible.

Treasure Case: 2019 T700 An incomplete gold finger ring of medieval date (c.AD1200-1400). The plain hoop is round in plan, tapers from the shoulders toward the base. The hoop is D-shaped in cross section at the shoulders before tapering to a flattened oval cross-section. The hoop has been pulled out of shape, possibly due to damage within the plough soil. One element of a two-part, cast copper alloy swivel, of medieval date, about AD 1100 - 1500. It consists of a ring of metal, flattened at one side, where there is a projecting integral void in which the second part would have rotated. The projection is faceted on each face.
