Early Medieval debased silver sceat, secondary phase, dating to the period AD 710 to 740. Series X (type 31 Woden head / crested monster). Barrett type Ap (Metcalf 1993:279). Probably minted at Ribe, Denmark. North (1994: 65) no 116.
Areas of copper alloy on both faces suggest it is debased silver. A similar example which can be found on the PAS database is c.f SOM-88FE49.
