A fragment from a cast copper alloy vessel dating from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval period. The object is a rim fragment and is sub-triangular in plan. It is slightly curved in profile. The rim of the object flares outwards slightly creating a D-shaped in cross-section measuring 3.76mm thick. Projecting from each face is a copper alloy rivet or repair. Below this on the incomplete edge is an incomplete perforation which would probably have held another repair. The internal face has a smooth dark green patina. More precise dating is impossible as none of the vessel's fabric has been retained in the mend but is likely to date from some time betwen c43 to c1750 AD. . Copper alloy vessel rim sherd. The inner rim edge is thickened to give it a plano-convex D cross section. There are carbon deposits on the exterior face. Similar types of cooking vessels were in use for a long period, from the 11th to the 19th centuries. Other examples on the database include GLO-9EC6C7, IOW-224162, and WAW-011FA4. Difficult to date but probably within the period from c1100 to c1900 AD, most likely 16th to mid 18th century. The length is 42mm, width 30mm, thickness 3.5mm, and the weight 24.3g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy unidentified object probably dating to the 16th century. The object consists of a rectangular band from which projects three sub-rectangular sectioned 'arms' which expand into three conjoined ovals. The voids between each 'arm' forms openwork decoration. The oval projections are decorated with moulded cross-hatching. The outer face of the object is gilded while the internal face is undecorated. It is curved in profile. The exact function of this object is unknown however the style and gilding suggest a 16th century date.

The rounded terminal curves backwards slightly however it is unclear whether this is intentional or due to damage. Cast copper alloy toilet implement dating to the Roman period. The object terminates at one end with a modern break. The broken end has been bent upwards. At the other end the expansion is into a shallow oval bowl with a rounded end. The object has been twisted at the neck between the bowl and the stem. Twisted handles are to be found on Roman cosmetic implements, although distinguishing them from medical implements is difficult. This object has traces of a white-metal coating. Similar examples can be found on p61, Crummy, (1983).

A silver thimble probably of post-Medieval date. The object is sub-circular in plan and is domed. The thimble is covered in irregular pits which are very worn, reducing in size from the top towards the base. At the base of the object are two circumferential grooves bordering the edge. The lower edge of the object has been broken in places. There are no stamps or maker's marks visible on the object. An almost complete cast copper alloy stud dating from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval period. The head of the object is circular in plan and slightly domed. It measures 11.98mm in diameter. The stud has a rectangular sectioned pin or shank which tapers to a point. The object has a dark green patina. Due to the lack of decoration and features and the functional nature of these studs they are difficult to date accurately.

A small copper alloy belt fitting of probable late medieval to post-medieval date (c. AD 1400-1650). The object is composed of a single rectangular plate of copper alloy that folds over on itself to create a loop at one end with a single rivet to hold it in place. The rivet has a diameter of 1.66mm. A cast copper alloy strap end dating to the Medieval period, (AD 1066-1500). The object is rectangular in plan and cross-section. The strap end consists of a single sheet of copper alloy which has been folded widthways and secured at the open end with a single rivet. Within the strap end traces of a white material can be seen. The rivet is dark grey in colour and has a diameter of 2.99mm. The object has a mid green patina and can be dated from c.1150-1450. Similar examples can be found in Egan and Pritchard, (1991), p125-131.

A Post Medieval incomplete copper alloy spur terminal. The terminal is roughly figure of 8 in plan (perforation internal diameters 3 to 4mm) with a double collar separating it from the remaining section of shank. There is a raised line which runs centrally between the lobes to the collar on one face. There may be other decoration now obscured by corrosion. Dates from c1500 to c1700 AD. The length is 25mm, width 14mm, thickness 3mm, and the weight 3.2g. Similar examples on the database include WMID-492A37, NLM-571114, FAKL-552991, and BERK-8E62D0.

The inscribed frame of a medieval silver seal matrix, of circular form. The back of the seal is now missing, as is the centre, which would once have held a gem or intaglio, possibly Roman.
