A copper alloy zoomorphic strap end dating to the early-medieval date, c.AD 750 - 850. The strap end is of Thomas' Class B, Type 4 with zoomorphic terminal and multi-headed decoration. The strap-end is made from a solid piece of copper alloy which has been split at the butt end for attachment. The split end is incomplete terminating with a break and with one half missing. It is sub-triangular in shape with two relief-moulded confronting zoomorphic heads on the body as well as the zoomorphic terminal. An incomplete copper alloy Roman headstud brooch (AD c. 75 - c. 200). The head of the brooch consists of two rectangular wings, decorated with two lozenges (one above the other) on each wing. The bow tapers in width tapering in an ancient break above the foot, and has a circular, ring-and-dot 'headstud' moulding at the apex of the bow. The recess between the central dot and the ring may have once held enamel. The bow of the brooch is decorated with a series of central lozenge shaped cells. A complete cast post-medieval copper alloy coin weight. The object is square in plan. The obverse is too worn to discern. The reverse shows a crown with three points above V S. Below this is V I D. This shows the value of coins of the same weight would be 5 shillings and 6 pence. The shilling first came into use with attempts made during the reign of Edward VI (1547-1553) to reduce the debasement of coins and increase the fineness of silver coinage. This makes the earliest possible date for this coin weight to be AD 1549, though it is probably somewhat later.

Post Medieval copper alloy coin weight for a James I Unite of 22 shillings. It is circular in plan. One face is stamped with a crown above the numerals XXII with the letter S below. The other face is heavily worn but the monarch's sceptre is still visible. It is now underweight, possibly due in part to wear. Dates to between 1604 and 1625. The object weighs 8.8g and measures 18mm in diameter. Similar weights on the database include IOW-C72D62, HAMP-294BA6, and IOW-3D4413.
