The lead around the edge of the perforation has been flattened and flares slightly backwards. The main body of the object is decorated with an alternating pellet and ridge decoration. There is a third similar knop at the head of the brooch. The bow expands outwards from the head of the brooch and is P-shaped in profile. The foot is long and triangular shaped in cross-section. Cast copper alloy trumpet brooch dating to the Roman period, (43-410AD). The object has a large trumpet-like oval head. The bow arches out from the head and terminates in a break. The bow is oval in cross-section. A groove runs around the edge of the head, one side of which has been damaged. A small oval tab projects up from the top of the head. The spring and pin are missing. The bow is very narrow, 3.85mm in width, in comparison to the head which is 19.52mm in width. The object has a dark brown patina and is in poor condition. It can be date to 75-175AD.

It is toffee brown in color. These scrapers occasionaly occur in the Mesolithic period also however the context of the object suggests that it is Bronze Age.

Facets and ridges can be seen on the dorsal side while the ventral side is largely smooth. The edges of the object have been retouched. It has a mottled grey color. The object could date to the Mesolithic however the context of the other flints in the assemblage suggests that it is Bronze Age.
