A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date. The object is circular in plan and bi-conical with a large central circular perforation. The perforation has an internal diameter of 11mm. One face is decorated with a moulded starburst design and four raised pellets evenly spaced. The opposite face is decorated with a worn starburst design across which are extra moulded lines creating a cross-hatched effect. Within each point of the 'star' is a single pellet. A carved stone head, often loosely referred to as a 'Celtic' head. 'Celtic' heads are found in some numbers in Britain, the great majority of which, including this one, are un-dateable. A copper alloy rotary key of medieval date, probably from a casket. The key has been made from a piece of sheet metal which has been folded or rolled to form the stem. The stem is hollow and is oval in cross-section. The object is flattened at one end to form an oval bow. The top of the bow has an open join where each side of the sheet metal meet. The bow is pierced with an oval aperture at the centre which measures 4mm in width. The join runs down and along the underside of the stem towards the bit. A complete lead alloy medieval pilgrim's ampulla, dating from c. AD 1350-1530. The bowl is semi-circular in plan and the neck is sub-rectangular in cross-section flaring outwards at the top. The flask is decorated on one face with a flower. The flower has a central pellet and 11 petals of which those on the lower half are very worn. Surrounding the flower the edge of the bowl on this face is decorated with a zig-zag band within a curvilinear border. The bow is comma-shaped in profile, D-shaped in section, and tapers to a rounded foot. Only one wing remains due to ancient damage. The remaining wing is semi-cylindrical and short. A lead seal matrix dating to the Medieval period, c.13th century. It is pointed oval and flat, and now worn. The central device is a star, pattern or perhaps a flower, of eight radiating lines. Four (at the cardinal points) are simple lines but the ones in the angles are nail-like, each ending in a crossbar. Surrounding this is a worn groove. An incomplete, copper-alloy Early-Medieval/Anglo-Scandinavian openwork stirrup-strap mount of Williams Class A, Type 10D. The mount is rectangular in form, with a rounded upper surface which terminates in a wide triangular apex, decorated with three rounded bosses and containing a central circular rivet hole. A Medieval to Post-Medieval copper alloy dagger pommel and quillion probably dating from AD 1450 - 1600. The pommel has a convex circular top divided by deep V-sectioned radiating grooves into a sexfoil. The reverse of the pommel is also convex, but has a large central aperture. There is a sub-rectangular hole for the tang in the centre of the upper face. The pommel has a thin dark green patina. It is 30mm in diameter, 15mm in height and weighs 34.7g. The remains of gilding can be seen on the top of the object. Matching examples of this sword pommel have been recorded on the PAS
